Black Attitude

They see black skin
I see humans
They see monkeys
I see people
They see slaves
I see leaders

They see lesser beings
I see a worthy race

We were happy
Happy we were
Singing Kumbaya all the way
Until they came and killed our song
Civilization they preached
But what did that really mean?

I refuse to be shut down
I refuse to be locked out
I demand to be treated right because
They're not better because they're light

Africa
Rise up
Take up your pallet and walk
Prove that you are you, and they are they
Pave your own way to greatness
We will indeed get to the promised land

Call me a racist
I don't care
Say I am mean
That's your choice
But I'll never stop speaking Africa
If that sounds rude to you
Enjoy it
For there's one thing I'll never do:
Apologise for my Black Attitude
